17/9/2015· Say something like 22 gauge vs 0 gauge where there is almost no flexibility in a 0 gauge wire anyways? « Last Edit: Septeer 15, 2015, 09:39:12 am by george graves » Logged
17/3/2015· I am not sure i can trust that estimate though, and the wire has no coating. That estimate tells us that three feet of #14 wire can take over 160 amps without melting. That''s got to easily be welding current. I think the 10 second fusing current would be 160 amps
The British Standard Wire Gauge (SWG) is another gauge system that was used in the past, but has been gradually displaced by the AWG. A mil is a length of 0.001 inches, and cmil stands for "circular mil" and is equivalent to the area of a circle 0.001 inch in diameter (see welding cable size …
Signal Interference and Cable Shielding A well-engineered cable is comprised of many crucial independent elements. Recently shielding has become just as critical as any other design element. The growing complexity of today’s communiions and control

The XLR connectors used in pro audio are much better, with wiping action and ample contact area. Everything I''ve spoken of so far is minor compared to the real disaster area in audio: the use of bare-wire connections for sers.
Obvious differences between the Kier and Canare include geometry (multistrand braiding vs. Star Quad), locking "closed-screw" banana plugs vs. welded banana plugs, and different aggregate wire gauges (11G, 14G, 9G depending on test condition).

5/6/2013· This has nothing to do with car audio installation wire but pure aluminum cable is very cheap compared to copper alternative in MCM. I can get 690A capable aluminum cable for less than it costs to purchase 4/0 super-flex welding cable which is only capable of slightly more than half that ampacity.
4 Gauge Battery Cable (AWG) for automotive and marine use. Made in the USA. Available in short lengths to 100ft. spools. Comes in either Red or black. 4 Gauge AWG Battery Cable has an amperage capacity of 100 amps at a cable length of 9.4 feet. 4 gauge battery cable can be used as power cabling for small cars, RV trailers, golf carts, solar cells, watercraft and trolling motors.
Simply cut wire to desired length and add a plug to one end, or plug one end and socket on the other. Easy to do with a screwdriver, instructions included. Rated for 15A - 125V These plugs are suitable for North America. Plugs and sockets for other countries can
Key difference: A wire is a single conductor while cable is a group of two or more conductors. The term wires and cables are used pretty much used synonymously, but they are quite different in fact. One way to differentiate them is to remeer that wires are a

I am ready to buy some 16 and 18 gauge wire, and have found really good deals on multiple color packages of wire, but the real good prices are for Copper Clad Aluminum stranded wire. I am not convinced that this would be good to use, as it could heat up, and I have heard that it breaks more easily. Do any of you have experience with this wire vs all copper stranded wire, and what do you think
5/3/2013· Re: Power Wire: Tinned vs. Bare Copper As always I appreciate the replies from both sides and the wealth of knowledge this site contains. I guess my biggest reason for asking the question was because I am well over budget on this project already and if I could justifiably avoid dropping another $100 on tinned, well, then I''d be on board to do so.
10/6/2019· Pulling the trigger electrically energizes the welding wire and starts the motor drive, feeding the wire automatically as you weld. MIG welding requires the weld to be shielded from the atmosphere. This is often done by directing shielding gas over the weld area — and the flow of gas is also controlled by the trigger on the gun.
For wire, the best I know of, in terms of quality, and cost VS performance, is Military Spec m22759/11. It is advantageous because it is multi stranded copper, with silver plating of each strand, and it uses teflon as an outer jacket. It is " off the scale" in terms of its

Leon, Your 4-gauge power wire and 100-amp fuse will work fine and using 8-gauge power wire from the distribution block to each of those amps will be okay. The Planet Audio amp has an onboard fuse so it wouldn''t need a fuse after the distribution block.

31/1/2019· I was describing general methods, not specific to your appliion. In yours I would definitely not take a low-effort lazy way out. Technically there would be little problem if the 18AWG wire could handle your current, but that would then mean your 8AWG is hugely oversized and a massive waste of space on the core so you''re still better off taking it all off and rewining if with 18AWG if that
